Flag Information
The Town of Groton Charter, CH. 242. P. 4 states:
- The flag shall be flown at half staff by order of the President of theUnited States or the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- The flag shall also be flown at half staff from the day of death and the following day for:
- Any former or present elected Town of Groton official.
- Any Town of Groton resident who was a veteran and was currently residing in Groton.
- Any current of former Town of Groton resident who, in the view of the Chairman of the Select Board, deserves such recognition.
- In the event that the Select Board’s office is not notified upon day of death, the flag shall only be flown on the day of the notification of death.
