SUSTAINABLE BUDGET STUDY COMMITTEE

During recent budget cycles, it appears that a limited number of areas are driving the majority of the Town of Groton’s Municipal Spending Growth.  If the Town does not identify unsustainable growth, it will diminish the Town’s ability to fund other Municipal and Educational Needs.  Based on a recommendation of the Finance Committee, the Select Board has created a Study Committee to determine what actions can be taken to ensure sustainable Municipal Budget Growth.

A.  CHARGE

The Sustainable Budget Study Committee shall be established for the purpose of identifying and understanding the underlying causes of growth in Groton’s Municipal Operating Budget, as well as, making recommendations on specific actions that can be taken to ensure the Town is on a sustainable financial path.  The Committee’s work should include, but not be
