Hazard Mitigation Plan – Public Workshop 2 RESCHEDULED
Public Workshop #2 – RESCHEDULED
October 8th, 2026 | 5:30-7PM
Virtual Zoom Meeting
About the Groton Hazard Mitigation Plan Update
The Town of Groton has been working over the past year to update the 2020 Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). The HMP is important because it helps the Town plan for and pursue funding for projects and activities that can reduce the risk of injury or property damage from natural hazards, including flooding and extreme storms.
Communities must update their HMPs every five years to remain eligible for certain non-emergency federal disaster assistance.
What’s the Workshop About?
Residents are invited to a virtual public meeting to discuss the draft HMP and provide feedback on the draft mitigation actions.
- Presentation: Review the 2026 HMP Update planning process and the hazard mitigation strategies included in the draft plan.
- Q&A and Discussion: Ask questions and provide comments on the draft plan.
