Satellite Emergency Facility FAQ – UMASS Memorial Health

Satellite Emergency Facility FAQ – UMASS Memorial Health

FAQ PAGE CAN BE FOUND HERE

UMass Memorial Health plans to open a Satellite Emergency Facility (SEF) at 490 Main Street in Groton as part of our efforts to strengthen access to affordable, high-quality health care across Central Massachusetts.

As part of the broader UMass Memorial system, this facility will provide the same level of adult and pediatric emergency services as a traditional emergency department (ED), including a helipad for emergency transport by helicopter, beds for emergency care or observation, and certain imaging services. In the future, we will continue to assess the community’s needs and expand the facility’s offerings as appropriate.

This location in Groton was chosen after careful consideration of the region’s most immediate concerns, including EMS transport times and the availability of health care services. We came to this decision in collaboration with the region’s fire/EMS chiefs and members of the Nashoba Valley Health Planning Working Group.

As an organization, UMass Memorial Health is focused on ensuring patients across Central Massachusetts and the Commonwealth can receive the essential care they need and deserve. We are proud to serve the Nashoba Valley Region and are committed to supporting the health and well-being of the entire community.
